NEW YORK (AP) — Seattle right-hander Aaron Harang has been scratched from his start Thursday night against the New York Yankees because of lower back stiffness.

The Mariners say Hector Noesi will start in Harang’s place at Yankee Stadium.

Harang is 1-4 with a 7.30 ERA in five starts. The 35-year-old is in his first season with the Mariners.

Noesi began his major league career with the Yankees. The 26-year-old righty is 0-0 with a 3.86 ERA in four relief appearances this season.
