The Washington State Patrol will test people applying to be troopers at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at the agency’s Southwest Washington headquarters, 11018 N.E. 51st St.

Interested applicants should come prepared to complete a written exam and physical agility test that includes one minute of sit-ups, one minute of push-ups and a 11/2 mile run. Applicants who complete the physical test will move on to the written exam after a short break.

Trooper Jason Cuthbert, recruiter for District Five, said they will accept walk-in applicants at the Saturday testing.

Applicants looking to test on a walk-in basis need to bring a completed application with them, which can be found online at Washington State Patrol.

Anyone with questions about becoming a trooper or the testing process can call Cuthbert at 360-623-5103.
