SAN DIEGO (AP) — The San Diego Padres have activated outfielder Carlos Quentin from paternity leave and optioned right-hander Brad Brach to Triple-A Tucson.

Quentin did not play in Thursday’s game against Washington and was placed on paternity leave prior to Friday night’s game due to the birth of his first child, Clark.

Quentin is hitting .181 with four home runs and 13 RBIs.

Brach was 1-0 with a 4.76 ERA in 19 relief appearances.
