Battle Ground — Members of the Battle Ground Rotary Club gathered on May 11 to scour garbage from state Highway 503, from Main Street south to Eaton Boulevard (Northeast 199th Street). The Rotarians are part of the state Department of Transportation’s Adopt-A-Highway litter cleanup program. They filled 10 bags with run-of-the-mill garbage. The Rotarians plan to do the same for Highway 503 north from Main to Onsdorff Boulevard. “Then, in a few months, they will do it all over again,” said spokesman Gregg Herrington.
