PORT TOWNSEND — Lighting and security are being improved at a cruise ship dock at Port Townsend where vandals cut mooring lines last week.

Police say a total of five lines were cut on two different nights causing damage estimated at more than $1,000.

Police Chief Conner Daily told the Peninsula Daily News that investigators are looking at several possible suspects.

The American Cruise Lines ship holds up to 100 passengers. It’s making 13 weekly Puget Sound cruises this season with stops in Port Angeles, Port Townsend, Anacortes, Friday Harbor and Poulsbo.
