Letter: Herrera Beutler spins health care

The Columbian
Published: May 27, 2013, 5:00pm

U.S. Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, is sending emails to her constituents that claim to solicit their opinions. Her email asks, “Are you concerned about how the massive health care law will impact you?” Three of the four answers available imply negative feelings, and none of them link to more questions that could give her clarity about peoples’ concerns. There is also no link to answers to the legitimate questions people have about the changes that will take place, both good and bad.

If our representative is trying to gather data to support her agenda, then she has succeeded.

If she wants to actually help her constituents, then she has some work to do. I hope she will do it.
