STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) — The lawyer for the family of the late Penn State coach Joe Paterno says Paterno’s estate, several university trustees and former players plan to file a lawsuit against the NCAA over the landmark sanctions against the university for the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal.

Attorney Wick Sollers is telling Bob Costas on the NBC Sports Network’s “Costas Tonight” show airing Wednesday evening that former coaches and faculty members are part of the suit. Excerpts from the show were provided by the network.

A suit had not been filed as of Wednesday afternoon.

Sollers says former players and faculty members are also involved in the suit against the NCAA and the organization’s use of former FBI director Louis Freeh’s scathing report on the scandal for the university in levying sanctions.
