Dixieland Blues wins Hollywood Park feature

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) — Dixieland Blues won the $55,250 feature by a half-length at Betfair Hollywood Park on Friday to end a six-race skid.

Ridden by Garrett Gomez, Dixieland Blues ran six furlongs on the turf in 1:09.54 and paid $6, $3.40 and $2.80 as the 2-1 favorite.

Mr. Ornery returned $10 and $5.20, while U’narack was another half-length back in third and paid $2.60 to show. Marty Jones trains the winner and runner-up.

Dixieland Blues had been the favorite in four of his six previous losses. The 5-year-old gelding has two wins in 10 career starts and earnings of $109,064.
