WorkSource online calendar aims to help job seekers

The statewide WorkSource system has launched a new online calendar aimed at making it easier for job seekers to learn about job fairs or to register for job search workshops.

The statewide calendar replaces several locally produced event calendars that were not connected to each other and could be hard to find.

The new calendar is “a major service improvement for our customers,” Dale Peinecke, a commissioner for the Washington state Employment Security Department, said in a news release this week. Job seekers will find “all scheduled workshops and events in the state at one convenient location.”

The WorkSource calendar — accessible by visiting go2worksource.com and clicking on the “Calendar Workshops & Events” icon — is available 24 hours a day on any device with Web access.

The calendar enables job seekers to view and pre-register for a variety of workshops, including on building effective résumés and honing interview skills. Hiring events, job clubs and other WorkSource events also are posted on the calendar.
