Letter: Require use of reusable bags

The Columbian
Published: May 30, 2013, 5:00pm

I am in the fourth grade. Portland is banning plastic bags from checkout counters. I think Vancouver should do the same. One reason we should ban plastic bags is lots of animals either eat them and can’t digest them, or they get strangled to death. We are destroying our own environment, and using up our natural resources. Oil is being used by plastic bags. Plastic bags cause lots of pollution. I think we should use reusable bags instead. Plastic bags never go away. I think we should ban them.

One day, I hope my letter can change the world.
