PORTLAND — Police responding to a report of gunfire early Friday in southeast Portland’s Powellhurst-Gilbert neighborhood found the body of a 24-year-old woman outside an apartment.
Police identified Precious A. Jackson as the victim of that shooting. Her body has been sent to the Oregon state medical examiner.
The shooting was one of two early Friday in southeast Portland that detectives are continuing to investigate.
Detectives are asking for help to recover clothing that may have been discarded after the shooting near Gilbert Heights City Park.
Officers chased a vehicle leaving the area that crashed a few blocks away. The driver ran off.
