CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — The Carolina Panthers have lost starting right guard Chris Scott and his primary backup, Jeff Byers, to injuries during the first half of Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Carolina has been forced to go with a Nate Chandler, a converted defensive lineman, at right guard. Scott left the game with a knee injury and Byers lasted only one series before leaving with an ankle injury.

The Panthers have already lost their two starting guards — Amini Silatolu and Garry Williams — to season-ending injuries.

Falcons defensive tackle Corey Peters was helped off the field in the third quarter with a knee injury. His return is questionable.
