The idea of a universal health care system is tantalizing, however, the prospect of a grossly ineffective and ostensibly corrupt federal government system managing it strikes me as being foolish. I feel our error is due to our representation and how our leaders view themselves. Are they our “we serve the will of the people” public servants or our “we know what’s best” masters?
To be honest I feel cheated by officials who are more interested in playing power games than caring about the American people.
The Affordable Care Act, as ideologically triumphant as it is, is doomed to fail because of a secretive and damaged system designed by our nation’s leaders. Why are we rushing into this health care system? Why would we not spend a little more time making sure the website for it is working first? As a nation of master designers, how is it our health care system is in shackles before the health care act has even taken effect?
Rather than blame a political party, I say we try to fix this system and at least give the idea of providing health care to all, regardless of class, race or income, a fighting chance.
