MILWAUKEE (AP) — Milwaukee center Larry Sanders will sit out the Bucks’ game Wednesday night against Cleveland because of a thumb injury apparently sustained in an off-court incident.

“It was reported that there was an incident. I’m not sure exactly what happened but right now it’s under investigation,” Bucks coach Larry Drew said. “He will not play tonight due to a sore thumb.

“I have not seen him yet (tonight). I don’t know much more. You probably know more than I do. I do know that it is being investigated and that’s the word I’ve got.”

Sanders signed a four-year, $44 million contract extension during the offseason. He averaged 2.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 17.5 minutes in three games this season. Last season, he averaged 9.9 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.83 blocks.
