As a student in a public college I have real experience in the growing attendance rates in Washington state’s public universities. When determining which college to go to you look at the cost, graduation rate and reputation. Among all of these you also look at where the jobs are and location.
Seattle is growing and demanding more educated professionals every day. I believe that is the cause of higher enrollment at University of Washington. Along with its branch campuses, the main campus is in Seattle, still giving them credibility if they decide to move to Seattle after graduation. Same goes with Western Washington University in Bellingham. A very populated city.
Once you settle somewhere you are going to be wary to move to a different place, which is why I believe that enrollment has gone up due to location of the colleges.
