MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — As expected, the Minnesota Vikings put five starters on their inactive list for their game against the Washington Redskins.

Cornerback Chris Cook, safety Jamarca Sanford, right tackle Phil Loadholt, left guard Charlie Johnson and tight end Kyle Rudolph were all out of action due to injuries Thursday night, and backup nose tackle Fred Evans was, too. With starting nose tackle Letroy Guion also injured, rookie Sharrif Floyd was in the starting lineup for the first time to take Guion’s place.

Also, with Loadholt out, the Vikings signed offensive tackle Kevin Murphy from their practice squad. To make room on the roster, they waived linebacker Audie Cole.

The Redskins are relatively healthy. Strong safety Jose Gumbs was inactive because of an ankle injury. He has started one game this season.
