Two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision on state Highway 503 that clogged traffic for more than two hours Friday afternoon.

The crash was reported at 1:45 p.m. nearly two miles north of Battle Ground on one of the few straight sections of Lewisville Highway.

Clyde Simonson, 67, of Battle Ground drove a Toyota Tundra onto the northbound highway from Northeast 132nd Avenue and into the path of an Infiniti sedan, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Simonson was not injured, but the sedan’s driver, Stevie Synogound, 17, of Portland, and her passenger, Sherry Frentress, 64, of Yacolt, were transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.

A LifeFlight helicopter ambulance was put on standby but later released.

Simonson was cited by the State Patrol for failing to yield to Synogound.
