Stephen F. Austin beats Texas-Tyler 90-64

NACOGDOCHES, Texas (AP) — Jacob Parker scored 19 points to lead Stephen F. Austin past Texas-Tyler 90-64 on Friday night.

The defending Southland Conference regular season champs beat up on Division III UT-Tyler. Dresmond Haymon scored 17 points and Nikola Gajic added 14 for Stephen F. Austin. The win was the first under new head coach Brad Underwood. The Lumberjacks are 10-4 in their last 14 season openers.

The Lumberjacks made 52.6 percent of their shots and held UT-Tyler to 36 percent on 14-of-47 shots. Stephen F. Austin outrebounded the Patriots 38-13.

Bryce Kemp led UT-Tyler with 11 points in 25 minutes of play. The game was an exhibition for the Patriots, who open their season on Sat. Nov. 22 against Rhodes.
