KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee guard Antonio Barton didn’t play in a 78-47 exhibition victory over Southern Indiana on Thursday because of an injured left leg. Volunteers coach Cuonzo Martin expects to have the transfer from Memphis available for the start of the regular season.

Barton didn’t play in either of Tennessee’s two exhibition games after hurting his leg in practice an Oct. 25. Martin said Barton “should be good to go in Saturday’s practice.”

The Vols open the regular season Tuesday at Xavier.

Jordan McRae scored 15 points for Tennessee on Thursday while Josh Richardson had 12 points and Jarnell Stokes added 11.

Barton averaged 5.6 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.1 assists as a reserve for Memphis last season after making a combined 31 starts his first two seasons with the Tigers.
