Duquesne routs Abilene Christian 94-75

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Derrick Colter went 8-of-12 from the field and scored 23 points as Duquesne beat Abilene Christian 94-75 on Saturday in the season opener for both teams.

Duquesne scored the game’s first 12 points and raced to a 41-16 lead in the first half. The Dukes led 54-29 at halftime and were up by as many as 31 in the second half.

Duquesne shot 30-of-58 from the field and had five players reach double figures in scoring. Tra’Vaughn White scored 20 points while Ovie Soko had 17, Dominique McKoy had 11 and Jeremiah Jones had 10.

Duquesne improved to 76-4 in home openers with the win.

Abilene Christian shot under 35 percent from the field in its first game as a Division I affiliate. Harrison Hawkins led the Wildcats with 26 points.
