CAMAS — The Camas-Washougal Community Chest is soliciting grant applications from local nonprofits for consideration for 2014. The postmark deadline for applications is Dec. 15.

The grants go toward a variety of programs. In 2013, the community chest gave away 19 grants, totaling nearly $88,795.

This year’s fundraising campaign is underway, and the organization hopes to raise $78,000 to pay for the grants.

Some of the organizations that received money in 2013 include Janus Youth Programs, Lower Columbia Estuary Partnership and Meals on Wheels. Combined, the organizations that received grants this year serve roughly 15,000 people.

Grant applications and detailed instructions for applying are available online at www.CamasWashougalCommunityChest.org.
