Robert Morris earns 86-66 win over Savannah State

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (AP) — Karvel Anderson scored 21 points, including 18 in the second half, and Robert Morris pulled away from Savannah State for an 86-66 win on Saturday night.

Leading 34-31 at halftime, the Colonials outscored the Tigers 52-35 in the second half. A 3-pointer from Joshua Montgomery midway through the second half cut the deficit to 56-50 for the Savannah State, but the Tigers never got any closer as Robert Morris closed the game on a 30-16 run.

Anderson found most of his offensive success with 3-pointers, connecting on 5 of 8. As a team, the Colonials were 11 of 21 from long range.

Mike McFadden added 12 points and 9 rebounds for Robert Morris. Charles Oliver had 12 points off the bench.

Montgomery scored 14 points to lead the Tigers. Keierre Richards added 12 and Alante Fenner had 10 for Savannah State.
