Letter: Remember Murray’s silence

The Columbian
Published: November 9, 2013, 4:00pm

The House of Representatives has repeatedly passed an IRS bill that could have saved U.S. taxpayers up to $24.4 billion over 10 years for undocumented residents receiving illegal child tax credits, but Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., would not hear it.

The House repeatedly passed a budget that the Senate wanted with the caveat to delay Obamacare for just one year for individuals but Reid would not hear it. Reid defended the special Obamacare exemptions carved out for lawmakers and their staff saying, “That’s what the law says, and we’ll be part of that.”

Now, look a little bit closer and you will see standing right beside Reid is Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., smiling and nodding her head “yes.”

Regarding the “Fast and Furious” scandal, the IRS debacle, the Obamacare rollout, and the NSA spying on Americans — where is Murray? She is standing beside Reid, smiling, nodding her head “yes.”

Remember where Murray was standing and then remember to vote “no” to her next re-election.
