South Dakota State blanks Indiana State 29-0

BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) — Zach Zenner rushed for 137 yards and a touchdown as South Dakota State rolled to a 29-0 win over Indiana State on Saturday.

Zenner’s touchdown gave South Dakota State (6-4, 3-3 Missouri Valley Conference) a 9-0 lead late in the first quarter, and the Jackrabbits added two second quarter field goals to take a 15-0 halftime lead.

Austin Sumner connected with Jason Schneider for a 25-yard touchdown in the third quarter and Isaac Rodriguez scored his first touchdown of the season in the fourth quarter to round out the scoring.

Sumner had 207 yards passing, and surpassed the 7,000 yard passing mark for his career.

The Jackrabbits held Indiana State (1-9, 0-6) to just 161 yards of total offense, 56 passing. Indiana State starting quarterback Mike Perish was hurt early in the game and his replacement, Robert Tonyan Jr., completed just 5 of 20 passes.
