Davis, Reid optimistic in concussions recovery

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis and rookie safety Eric Reid both expressed optimism on being able to pass a series of tests this week after suffering concussions in Sunday’s 10-9 loss to the Carolina Panthers.

Davis, who also landed on his shoulder as well as the side of his head, said he did not suffer any postgame symptoms.
