EDINBURG, Texas (AP) — Javorn Farrell had a steal and a pair of 3-pointers in the first two minutes as Texas-San Antonio steamed away from the opening tip and defeated NAIA Huston-Tillotson 94-62 on Wednesday night.
Farrell had been 0-for-7 behind the arc this season, but dropped his first two of the game and the early burst helped put the Broncs up 8-0. He finished with a team-high 18 points, six rebounds, 3 steals, 5 assists and a block. Justin Leathers added 14 points and eight boards, Shaquille Hines 11 points and Josh Cleveland 10 for Texas-Pan American (1-2)
Terry Johnson and Sterling Lampley came off the bench to lead Huston-Tillotson (0-2) with 23 points and 13 respectively.
The 94 points was the most for the Broncs since a 3OT 97-94 loss to IPFW last season, and is the most scored in regulation since defeating Victory University 101-94 in December, 2010.
