KIEV, Ukraine (AP) — The Ukrainian city of Lviv has submitted its bid to host the 2022 Winter Olympics.
Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Vilkul said Thursday the bid was submitted to the International Olympic Committee.
The bid projects about $10 billion in public and private investment to host the games. It will build upon infrastructure developed for last year’s European soccer championship, including the stadium that hosted three matches.
Snow sports would take place in the Carpathian Mountains near the Romanian border, 110 miles to the south.
