HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) — Jaquez Johnson and Jay Warren both rushed for more than 100 yards as Florida Atlantic piled up 333 yards on the ground Saturday morning to roll over Southern Miss 41-7 at Roberts Stadium.

Johnson, the Owls’ dual-threat quarterback, rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns, while Warren tacked on 105 yards on 18 carries. Damian Fortner added 94 yards and two touchdowns on just 10 carries.

FAU (4-6, 3-4 Conference USA) attempted just 12 passes while averaging 5.6 yards per carry.

The Owls turned three Southern Miss (0-10, 0-6) turnovers into 13, first-half points, including a 61-yard interception return for a score by safety Christian Milstead that gave FAU a 27-0 halftime lead.

Nick Mullens rushed for a 4-yard TD to give Southern Miss their only score.

The Golden Eagles have lost 22 consecutive games, the nation’s longest losing streak in the Football Bowl Subdivision.
