North Carolina Central beats Norfolk State, 24-13

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Andre Clarke rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown as North Carolina Central rallied to beat Norfolk State 24-13 on Saturday.

Quarterback Jordan Reid scored the first Eagles touchdown in the first quarter on a 1-yard rush after driving 70 yards in 12 plays. He was 8 of 16 for 103 yards passing on the day.

Clarke’s rushing TD came with under two minutes to go in the first half as the Eagles (5-6, 3-4 MEAC) trailed 13-7. An Oleg Parent field goal from 25 yards in the third gave the Eagles a 4-point lead. Then, early in the fourth quarter, NC Central blocked a Cameron Marouf field goal attempt from 29 yards and C.J. Moore returned it 70 yards for the final Eagles score.

Spartans QB Tyler Clark was 19 of 31 for 146 yards and one touchdown, a 4-yard toss to wide receiver DeAndre Sangster.
