UT-Martin beats Eastern Kentucky 16-7

RICHMOND, Tenn. (AP) — Jackson Redditt kicked three field goals and DJ McNeil ran for a touchdown on Saturday to lift UT-Martin over Eastern Kentucky 16-7.

Redditt kicked first-quarter field goals of 38 and 51 yards and McNeil’s 9-yard run in the second quarter gave the Skyhawks (7-4, 5-2 Ohio Valley Conference) a 13-0 halftime lead.

QB Kyle Romano got the Colonels (6-5, 4-3) on the board with a 1-yard run in the third quarter, but Redditt iced the game with a 45-yard field goal in the fourth.

The Skyhawks dominated on the ground, grinding out 217 yards. Abou Toure led with 111 yards on 17 carries, followed by McNeil, 14 carries for 47 yards.

The UT-Martin defense held the Colonels to 80 yards rushing and picked off two Romano passes.

Romano was 8 of 22 for 116 yards passing while UT-Martin’s Dylan Favre was 13 of 15 for 138 yards.
