LONDON (AP) — Former WBA champion David Haye has undergone surgery on his right shoulder and canceled an all-British fight against Tyson Fury for the second time.

In a statement released by Hayemaker Boxing on Sunday, Haye says surgery this week was “a bitter pill to swallow” and forced him to cancel the Feb. 8 fight in Manchester.

In September, Haye postponed the original Sept. 28 fight after sustaining a deep cut from sparring that required six stitches above his left eye.

He says he’s gone through the “unluckiest” year of his career because of injuries. He didn’t say whether he would consider retirement, but called his boxing career “a huge success.”
