IPFW pulls ahead to beat Tennessee Tech 69-66

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) — Luis Jacobo scored 20 points, converting 9 of 15 field goals, and grabbed 10 rebounds as Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne beat Tennessee Tech 69-66 Sunday.

The Mastodons (3-2) established an early lead, though Dennis Ogbe tied it up with 4:53 left in the second half with a free throw. Jacobo answered with a layup at 4:41, followed by a jumper by Joe Reed at 3:47, returning the Mastodon’s lead with 63-59.

The Golden Eagles (2-3) came close in the final minute of the game with Ogbe’s three-point jumper and Ladon Carter’s layup, bringing the score to 67-66. The Mastodons pulled ahead with two free-throws from Pierre Bland and Isaiah McCray to win the game.

Ogbe made 4 of 4 field goals and 5 of 5 free throws for the Golden Eagles, scoring a season-high 15 points.
