AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — Chris Denson scored 15 points to lead Auburn to a 78-54 home victory over winless Jacksonville State on Tuesday evening.

KT Harrell added 14 points on 4-of-7 shots for Auburn (2-1). After allowing 72 second half points against Northwestern State in its last contest, the Tigers’ defense forced 14 turnovers and held Jacksonville State (0-5) to just 35 percent from the field.

Auburn, which never trailed in the contest, put the game out of reach with a 19-2 run early in the second half. Freshman Dion Wade provided a spark for the Tigers off the bench, hitting back-to-back 3-point shots during the run.

D.J. Felder led all scorers with 16 points in the loss for the Gamecocks, who fell to 0-13 all-time against the in-state Tigers. Felder was the only Jacksonville State player to score in double figures.
