HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. (AP) — Angelo Warner scored a game-high 25 points as Morehead State pulled away late to defeat Northern Kentucky 74-61 Tuesday night.

The Eagles (4-1) had an early 16-3 lead, but Northern Kentucky crawled back to take a slim lead at half.

Warner hit three free throws and a 3-pointer to propel Morehead State back into the lead for good, making the score 45-39 at the 13:12 mark.

Northern Kentucky (0-4) cut the deficit to four after Dean Danos hit a pair of free throws, but three Morehead State free throws, two Bakari Turner 3-pointers and a dunk by Warner put the game out of reach with 3:20 remaining.

Turner finished with 14 points and Chad Posthumus hauled in a game-high 16 rebounds for the Eagles.

Northern Kentucky was led by Danos with 13 points and Jalen Billups added 11.
