Wake Forest beats Jacksonville, 90-83

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) — Travis McKie scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Wake Forest overcame shooting problems Monday to beat Jacksonville 90-83.

Codi Miller-McIntyre added 20 points, Coron Williams 14 and Tyler Cavanaugh 12 for the Demon Deacons (4-0), who shot just 38.7 percent (29 of 75) from the field.

However, Wake Forest — led by McKie and Devin Thomas, who had 16 rebounds — enjoyed a 57-40 advantage on the boards, leading to a 22-14 edge in second-chance points.

Jarvis Haywood had 19 points to lead four other players in double figures for the Dolphins (1-3), who overcame a double-digit deficit in the first half to lead twice in the second.

Sam Hunt added 15 points, Marcel White 14 and R.J. Slawson and Vince Martin had 11 points each for Jacksonville, which lost its second straight game.
