Gardner-Webb rolls past Allen 92-51

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. (AP) — Naji Hibbert scored 15 points and Tyler Strange had 13 as Gardner-Webb pulled away from Allen of the NAIA 92-51 Tuesday night.

The Runnin’ Bulldogs (2-2) shot 55.1 percent for the game and hit 12 of their 22 3-point attempts. They surged out to an early 17-0 lead as Allen committed six turnovers and missed their first eight field goal attempts to open the game. Gardner-Webb cruised to a 52-23 lead at the break.

Five players scored in double figures for Gardner-Webb as Isaiah Ivey had 12 points and Josh Castellanos and Logan Stumpf each added 10. Hibbert, Strange and Ivey each went 3 of 5 from beyond the arc and Castellanos dished out a game-high six assists.

The Yellow Jackets couldn’t keep pace with Gardner-Webb, shooting 21 of 56 from the field and had 22 total turnovers. They were led by Sidney Rivers with 11 points.
