NC A&T shuts out North Carolina Central 28-0

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) — The North Carolina A&T defense scored twice, on an interception and fumble recovery, in a 28-0 win over North Carolina Central on Saturday.

North Carolina A&T (7-4, 4-4 Mid-Eastern Conference) held North Carolina Central (5-7, 3-5) to 148 yards of total offense and just 35 yards passing.

Lewis Kindle scored on a 1-yard touchdown run in the first quarter for the Aggies and Ricky Lewis added a 1-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.

On the Eagles’ possession following Lewis’ score, Brian Houston intercepted Jordan Reid’s pass and returned it 30 yards for a touchdown. The Aggies’ defense continued to dominate in the fourth quarter as D’Anthony Ross sacked Malcolm Bell, forcing a fumble that was recovered by D’Vonte Grant and returned 20 yards for a touchdown.

Tarik Cohen rushed for 125 yards in the win. Kindle was 10-of-17 passing for 105 yards.
