SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) — David Nwaba scored a career-high 14 points, leading a balanced Cal Poly offense in a 78-39 win over Bethesda on Saturday night.
Cal Poly (1-3) took a 12-10 lead on a dunk by Chris Eversley midway through the first half, sparking a 24-8 run to finish the opening period.
The Mustangs continued to roll in the second half, opening with a 16-4 run, and led comfortably by double digits throughout the half.
Cal Poly shot 47.4 percent from the field, and 12 players scored for the Mustangs. Conversely, Bethesda shot just 28.1 percent from the field, and no player reached double digits for Flames.
