IPFW easily handles Kennesaw State 76-66

KENNESAW, Ga. (AP) — Pierre Bland scored 23 points in a stellar performance as Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne (IPFW) cruised to a 76-66 win over Kennesaw State on Sunday.

Bland had a field day shooting, hitting 7 of 7 from the field and going 8 for 8 from the penalty line. Bland also contributed six assists, six rebounds, and had three steals. Joe Reed added 16 points and Luis Jacobo scored 11 for the Mastodons.

IPFW (5-2) Jumped out to an early 5-0 lead and never allowed Kennesaw State (2-5) to close the gap taking a 40-29 point advantage into the break. The Mastodons stretched the gap to 19 points late in the second half before the Mastodons were able to narrow the final deficit to 10 points.

Nigel Pruitt led the Mastodons in scoring with 15 points and Yonel Brown finished with 11 points and seven assists.
