Jacksonville St beats Southeast Missouri St 42-34

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (AP) — DaMarcus James rushed for 206 yards and scored three touchdowns in the first half to lead Jacksonville State to a 42-34 victory Saturday over Southeast Missouri State.

James had touchdowns runs of 1 and 15 yards in the first quarter. His 8-yard TD run in the second quarter gave Jacksonville State (9-3, 5-3 Ohio Valley) a 28-6 halftime lead. James now has 1,180 yards rushing and 23 touchdowns this season.

Troymaine Pope had touchdown runs of 21 and 3 yards to give the Gamecocks a 42-13 lead going into the fourth quarter. Pope had 102 yards rushing. Eli Jenkins also had a rushing TD on his way to 124 yards rushing.

DeMichael Jackson and Kyle Snyder each had two touchdowns rushing for Southeast Missouri State (3-9, 2-6). Jackson had 19 carries for 183 yards. Lewis Washington rushed for 111 yards on 14 carries.
