Battle Ground — The six-year crime-fighting career of Battle Ground Police Department K-9 Haulf was honored last week during a city council meeting. Haulf was retired in August and is now living the life of a pet at the home of his handler, Officer Chris Crouch. Crouch is now training with the department’s new K-9, Luca. Luca is working to finish narcotics and patrol certifications, according to a city press release. During Haulf’s career he helped capture 116 suspects and took part in 108 SWAT deployments.
