Morgan State edges Marist 74-67 in overtime.

ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands (AP) — Ian Chiles scored a career-high 25 points to lead Morgan State past Marist 74-67 in overtime to place seventh in the Paradise Jam on Monday.

In a battle of winless teams, neither squad made a field goal in the final two minutes of regulation. Cedric Blossom made two free throws for Morgan State to tie it at 62 with 1:12 left and push the game into overtime.

Blossom made the first basket in extra time and Blake Bozeman’s 3-pointer pushed Morgan State’s lead to 71-64 with 36 seconds remaining. The Bears made three of their four free throws in the final 20 seconds.

Chiles, a 7-foot-2 center, was 11-of-21 shooting and grabbed nine rebounds for Morgan State (1-6). Blossom finished with 16.

Jay Bowie led Marist (0-7) with 22 points, including 5 of 6 from behind the arc, and senior Pieter Prinsloo grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds.
