KENT, Ohio (AP) — Derek Jackson scored 15 points Wednesday and four teammates scored in double digits and Kent State beat Youngstown State 83-79

Kris Brewer scored 14 points, K.K. Simmons 12 — all 3-pointers — Mark Henniger 11 and Darren Goodson 10, but Youngstown State (6-2) outshot Kent State (7-1) from the field 44.4 percent to 43.3 percent.

Kamren Belin scored a game-high 32 points for the Penguins, Kendrick Perry had 15 and Ryan Weber added 10.

The leaded traded hands several times in the first period until the Golden Flashes broke a 24-24 tie on 3-pointers by Jackson, Devereaux Manley and Brewer, then pulled away to lead 42-30 at halftime.

Youngstown surged in second half to tie it at 44 on a free throw by Belin at 15:36, then Kent State pulled away only to have Belin tie it again before the Golden Flashes pulled away for good.
