BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) — Marcus Colbert scored 16 points, sank four 3-pointers and dished out six assists as Montana State defeated Cal State Northridge 77-62 Tuesday night.

The Bobcats (2-4) broke a 15-15 tie in the first half with an 8-0 run fueled by a three-point play from Flavien Davis and a 3-pointer and layup from Colbert. They held a 37-30 advantage at the break, and extended that lead to 15 early in the second half with a Paul Egwuonwu jumper.

Cal State Northridge (3-3) trailed 64-44 midway through the second half, and could only cut the deficit to 10 on a Stephan Hicks jumper with 1:04 remaining.

Hicks led the Matadors with 23 points and 10 rebounds, both game-highs.

Colbert was 6 of 9 from the field and missed just one of his five 3-point attempts. Stephan Holm added 12 points, while Egwuonwu and Terrell Brown each added 11 for Montana State.
