BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — The Buffalo Sabres have added former Edmonton Oilers executive Kevin Prendergast to their scouting staff.

Prendergast has spent 30-plus years in professional hockey front offices, the majority of it with the Oilers. He joined the club in 1990 as vice president of hockey operations, taking the role of assistant general manager in 2006.

He’ll assist Sabres assistant general manager Kevin Devine with amateur and pro scouting.

Prendergast has also worked for Team Canada and NHL Central Scouting, as well as serving as head scout for Hockey Canada’s Program of Excellence, which evaluates talent for their national junior and under-18 development teams.
