ESTERO, Fla. (AP) — Nicholas Paulos made two 3-pointers midway through the second half to help give UNC Greensboro the lead and 75-68 victory over Stetson on Wednesday.

Raymone Andrews hit a 3-pointer that put Stetson up 50-47 with 11:50 left to play. Back-to-back 3-pointers, two by Paulos and another by Jordan Potts, gave the Spartans a four-point lead that went uncontested in the tight matchup.

The Hatters (0-8) managed to climb back within two after a drive by Aaron Graham with 68 seconds remaining in the game. UNC Greensboro (4-3) hit four straight free throws — two by Paulos — to stretch its lead in the final seconds. Kyle Cain led the Spartans with 21 points.

The victory was the first for UNC Greensboro in the Gulf Coast Showcase after falling to Louisiana Tech and San Diego earlier in the tournament. The Hatters are still looking for their first win of the season.
