Morehead State defeats Chattanooga 88-75

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Angelo Warner scored 22 points, including his team’s final two with 1:19 to play as Morehead State defeated Chattanooga 88-75 at the Las Vegas Invitational on Thursday.

Billy Reader added 21 points and eight rebounds off the bench as Morehead State (6-2) shot a lights-out, 72.3 percent from the field. Kareem Storey scored 16 points and Chad Posthumus added 11 with seven rebounds as the Eagles won six games in November for the first time in 84 seasons.

Z. Mason scored a game-high 23 points for Chattanooga (2-5), including a jumper and a 3-pointer inside the final minute.

The Mocs came as close as 42-37 on a 3-pointer by Eric Robertson after halftime, but Morehead State’s Warner scored back-to-back baskets and then fed Drew Kelly for a 3-pointer and quickly pushed the lead to 10. Warner scored at 1:19 to put the Eagles up by 18, 88-70.
