Hawaii gets 1st win of season, 49-42 over Army

HONOLULU (AP) — Sean Schroeder threw three touchdown passes and rushed for another score to lead Hawaii to a 49-35 win over Army Saturday.

The Rainbow Warriors (1-11) amassed 608 yards of total offense, including 322 passing by Schroeder, who completed 23 of 33 passes. Joey Iosefa and Steven Lakalaka combined for 258 rushing yards and two touchdowns as Hawaii rushed for 285 yards.

A.J. Schurr rushed for four second-half touchdowns to lead the Black Knights (3-8), who also got a rushing score from Matt Giachinta. Army rushed for 254 yards, nearly 80 yards less than their average of 333.1, which led the FBS entering the game.

Hawaii led 28-7 at halftime before three touchdown runs by Schurr tied it at 28 at the 6:17 mark in the third.

The Rainbow Warriors scored on their next two drives, but Army cut it to a one-score game twice in the final 15 minutes.
