Letter: Cycle disconnecting

The Columbian
Published: November 30, 2013, 4:00pm

Now I think I have this figured out. Public utilities bill us extra to subsidize electricity generated by wind turbines, the wind turbines kill the eagles, the government sues the wind farms for killing the eagles, then the wind farms pay the government fines. In other words we, the public, are paying wind farms to make power, then fining them for doing it and having them pay us a fine with money we gave them in the first place. It’s the new circle of life.

Let’s see, wind power kills eagles, solar power kills birds, nuclear power is too dangerous, coal power is too dirty, hydroelectric power blocks rivers and kills the salmon, gas production and distribution is too hazardous, and oil power creates CO2 and causes global warming.

Will the last one out please lock the door and turn out the … never mind, they’re already out.
