Recently I had the opportunity to have dinner with Mayor Tim Leavitt. He made himself accessible and transparent to a concerned member of the community. He lent a listening ear and was devoted to the views of the people he governs. He was engaging, articulate and respectful of my opinions and thoughts on how some of the impending issues at hand should be handled. While my political agenda does not perfectly align with his, I found him to be open and honest.
As our mayor, Leavitt has brought the philosophy of growth and expansion to the forefront of people’s mind. While the Columbia River Crossing project is a touchy subject for many of our constituents, he understands that in order to facilitate growth and cultivation of our beloved community we must move forward on this blueprint for maturation. A bold move in a very polarized political climate.
Vancouver has long been in need of a visionary who will take our city to a new level. We are lucky to have a leader who puts the best interests of the commonwealth first and one who has the fortuitousness and drive to place into action necessary projects and issues.
